The Holliston Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to rescue a trapped driver after a crash at the corner of Maple and Ashland streets Friday afternoon that sent two people to the hospital.
A 45-year-old male was later taken by MedFlight to Massachsuetts General Hospital. His condition was unkonwn. A second man, 59 years old, was taken by ambulance to Milford Regional Medical Center.
According to Holliston Fire Chief Michael Cassidy, multiple calls were received at 1:16 p.m. reporting the accident.
Becasue early information included a report of entrapment, Rescue 1 and Engine 3 were dispatched to assist in gaining access to the patient with the Jaws of Life extrication tool, Cassidy said.
Holliston A3 and paramedics from Events EMS transported a 45 year old male patient to a helicopter landing zone at the Warren Conference Center in Ashland, which had been secured by the Ashland Fire Department.
The crash remains under investigation by the Holliston Police Department.
