Police Log: Stolen Car Found in Ashland

The following information was supplied by the Holliston police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Wednesday, Aug. 31 

12:13 a.m.:  The ambulance service was called to the police station after a walk-in party said he had been assaulted by a baseball bat. The party refused treatment, however. 

2:07 a.m. : Ashland policed reported that they found a vehicle previously reported stolen from Holliston. The car was found on Route 135 and was to be towed back to the Holliston police department. 

3:39 a.m.:  Three loud bangs were reported in the Noel Dr. but the officer who checked the surrounding area  found all to be quiet. 

5:58 am.: A caller reported he had just struck a deer with his car on Washington St.. The incident was later determined to have happened in Sherborn and police in that community were notified. 

7:28 am. : An arrest was made following a motor vehicle stop on Washington St. John Galiardi, 36, of 2 Hancock St., Apt. 114, Quincy,was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of operating after license suspension.  He was processed, booked and transported to court, according to Lt. Keith Edison. 

1:49 pm.: A summons will be sought after a motor vehicle stop on Woodland St. 

4:47 p.m. : A resident of marked tree road called police out of concern that power had been restored to the neighborhood while a utility pole remained on the roadway. The fire department checkedon the situation and found that the area where the pole was toppled was not yet re-energized by NStar. 

10:39 p.m.: A possible electrical fire was reported on Dalton Rd. The fire department was notified.
