Joey's Warriors to Hit the Road for Jimmy Fund Walk
The local group will walk in support of Joey Griffith, the two-year-old son of Holliston police officer Daniel Griffith and his wife, Jamie.
Members of the Holliston Police Department and the local community will join to form Joey's Warriors, a walk team that will participate in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk on September 18.
With a specific goal of targeting juvenile cancer, Joey's Warriors will embark on the 26-mile marathon trail to support the family of Joey Griffith, the two-year-old son of Holliston police officer Daniel Griffith and his wife, Jamie.
Joey Griffith was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer six months ago.
"We at the HPD have been impacted by cancer on many levels," said a press release issued by the Holliston Police Department. "We have lost a brother officer to cancer, and many have lost family members as well.
"We are dedicated to fighting this battle alongside those suffering, and honoring the memory of those we have lost."
